Environmental Management Department
Annual Salary Range $110,643 to $121,980.96
The Environmental Management Department is currently recruiting for an individual with proven expertise and leadership in the following CUPA programs: above ground storage tanks, underground storage tanks, hazardous materials business plans and storage, CAL accidental release prevention program and additional programs including liquid waste, solid waste, medical waste, land use, wells, organics recycling, small water systems, recycled water and incident response.
The ideal candidate will have functioned in a supervisory capacity within an Environmental Health organization that emphasizes cooperation, accountability, and responsiveness, and have the ability to communicate effectively with government officials, departments, developers, business owners, environmental consultants, community stakeholders, and Sacramento County citizens.
Program oversight will include review of environmental health ordinances and multiple program supervision. Experience with Envision software and use of tablet inspections is desirable.
Either: 1. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a major in health science, public health, natural science, physical
science, environmental science, or a related field.
-and- Two years of supervisory experience
at a level equivalent to the Environmental Specialist IV class within Sacramento County service.
Or: 2. Possession of split off rights as granted by the Civil Service Commission and Board of Supervisors via SRA #90-85.
Note: Possession of a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in health science, public health, natural science, business or public administration, physical science, environmental science, or a related field may substitute for one year of the required experience.
A valid California Driver License is required.
